Participants can attend as often as they would like with no pressure to attend group every time. Please note\, the group is a supplemental support for support people\, and it is not a replacement for eating disorder treatment\, therapy\, or medical advice.\nClosed captioning services are provided in this virtual support group. \nSupport Groups at Eating Recovery Center\nWhether you are struggling with an eating disorder or your mental health\, we believe that with trusted\, expert support and community connection\, healing is always possible. Eating Recovery Center and Pathlight Behavioral Health offers several free support groups led by trained facilitators for those who need some extra support. These groups are available for alumni\, community members and families of loved ones in treatment. \nTo ensure your safety and that of our teammates\, our support groups are currently only taking place online. This means that you’re able to connect with others and our staff from the convenience of your home! \nNote: In order to offer virtual support resources to as many people in need as possible\, we ask that you only attend one ERC | Pathlight support group per week. SUMMARY:A Weight Inclusive Individualized Approach for Setting Recovery Weights
DESCRIPTION:About this Webinar:\nAbstract:Weight restoration is an essential component of eating disorder recovery. However\, there is no consensus on how to set recovery weights. Research has often relied on reaching a BMI of at least 18.5 or using median 50% BMI. Given that many people with restrictive eating disorders never reach BMIs this low\, this makes little sense. Using methods such as these may keep people genetically predestined to live in larger bodies in a state of chronic illness and/or vulnerable to relapse. It is imperative to consider an individual’s previous growth trajectories. \nThis team of a pediatric medical doctor and psychologist will teach a step-by-step method using individualized growth curves\, mid-parental heights\, and pubertal staging for estimating recovery weights. One participant (parent of teen) will be able to have their teen’s growth reviewed and used as an example. Other parents will learn how to use the method to help understand their own child’s growth trajectory and potential recovery weight.

DESCRIPTION:Our support groups are at the heart of the EDF program\, providing safe places for those with eating disorders and their families to grow and to learn from one another. These groups not only have helped many who are touched by eating disorders\, but also have served as a springboard from which lasting\, supportive friendships have grown.Our groups are facilitated by volunteer counselors and master’s level practicum students. They are there to keep the conversation safe and inclusive. Our groups vary in size because they are drop-in\, but are usually around 5-25 people depending on the group.  You will not be forced to participate during the groups\, but we hope you will feel EDF is a safe place to share your thoughts and feelings.  Groups are accessible to all\, regardless of your struggle or diagnosis.  This is not group therapy\, but rather a place to get support and build community.\nNew: the EDF Group Member Connection Group on Facebook! This is a group for our support group members to socialize and connect outside of groups. In order to join\, you must be a member of our support groups. Join here.\nYou must be at least 18 years old to attend support groups other than the Adolescent Support Group. Individuals under 18 are encouraged to call us\, or to reach out to us about speaking at their schools.  Sign up for our newsletters to get informed about future workshops for adolescents and teens.

SUMMARY:F.E.A.S.T. Sibling Support Group
DESCRIPTION:F.E.A.S.T. and ANAD have teamed up to develop support group options for caregivers and siblings of those with eating disorders. Led by peers who have been there\, they will offer space to connect\, learn\, and feel less alone.\nEach group is completely FREE and 75 minutes in duration. It can take up to 5 business days for registrations to process. Upon processing\, you will receive weekly group reminder emails with the zoom link. Additionally\, please check your spam folders for communications. \nThe caregiver group is open to parents\, spouses\, roommates\, and others in the position of providing support to someone navigating an eating disorder. \nThe sibling group is open to those 15 years of age and older who have a sibling navigating an eating disorder.
